Our Favorite Features at 90 White Oak Road

I hope to see you at our open house on Thursday, October 2 from 5 – 7pm! I wanted to give you a sneak peek of some of our favorite features at 90 White Oak Road, starting with the one thing that captures everyone’s attention upon entry… the gorgeous wallpaper.

      The wallpaper

Some may say that wallpaper has been out for a while, but it’s making a resurgence, especially nature-inspired prints, according to Better Homes & Gardens. “Nature is a frequent motif in wallpaper, one that Rees says is especially prescient in 2025. “Connecting with nature through interior design can have a calming, grounding effect,” she says. Rees particularly loves lush, oversized florals, tropical plants, and intricate botanicals for adding an organic feel to rooms.”

The sage green and cream oriental and floral wallpaper adorning the foyer, staircase, and second floor landing creates the perfect classic feel. It’s warm and inviting, and goes so well with the green carpet and stair runner and feel of the home. The owners chose a vibrant rosy floral pattern against a black background for the powder room, a bold choice that seems to work perfectly in this small space! The two windows, gold mirror, and black sink pair so well with this bold wallpaper. The grasscloth wallpaper in the breakfast room adds a formal touch, and in a way brings the outdoors in. Finally, the charming floral and insect cross-hatch pattern in the laundry room/mudroom fits that room so well. It’s whimsical yet subtle, accented by the owner’s butterfly prints.

      The architectural details

The second thing you might notice are the timeless architectural details throughout this home. Crown molding, window shutters, built-ins, bookshelves, bay windows, and French doors galore! They just don’t build homes like they used to, and 90 White Oak Road is the perfect representation of that.

The owner states, “this White Oak Road neighborhood of some fourteen spacious homes with large properties was developed in the late 1930’s by a group of investment-oriented General Electric executives. It was big news at the time as evidenced by articles of the plans in local newspapers. All the homes were tastefully designed, well-constructed, and each has individual characteristics and curb appeal. This notable enclave is bordered on two sides by the historical Brooklawn Country Club golf course – its first green is just two houses down from 90 White Oak Road.”

The dressing room/walk-in closet in the primary bedroom

It just keeps getting better and better. When I first walked into the dressing room, my jaw dropped. I expected a private primary bedroom in a house like this, but did not expect a huge dressing room (and reading nook just outside the room!). It was immaculate. It features many built-in drawers, closets, and a special shoe rack. If you open up two closet doors flanking the full-length mirror, there are two more floor-length mirrors on the inside of the doors – voila, you have a three-way mirror!

      The wet bar

This may look like your average wet bar, but it’s so much more special than that. Feast your eyes upon the round hammered sink, the glass cabinetry with lights, the circular window overlooking the breakfast room, and the imported stone countertops that match the kitchen countertops. With the breakfast room and dining room nearby, it’s a great spot for mixing quick cocktails, pouring a glass of wine, or displaying your favorite art piece.

The hidden, built-in wet bar in the basement

I was taking a look at the lower level on photo day and was opening closet doors to see where they led to, or how much storage space they had, when I opened the double doors and found the greatest surprise – a built-in wet bar! The shelves, counter space, and storage below add to the appeal, and when your party is over, all you need to do is close the doors and call it a day. What a unique surprise!
